Step Three

For Webcams

• 1. Log in, click ‘My Profile, CV and Video’, then scroll down and select ‘Record Video Showcase’.
• 2. Ensure your web cam is plugged in correctly and working
• 3. Click ‘Record’
• 4. Hit ‘allow’ and the site will automatically detect your web cam for you.
• 5. If you can now see yourself on screen the web cam picture is displayed correctly – adjust to suit your preference – then go to Step 7.
• 6. Otherwise, right click on the ‘Recorder’ and select ‘Settings’...
• 7. In the Adobe Flash Player Settings go to the last tab that looks like a web cam...
• 8. Now try changing the camera to a different one until a picture is displayed. Perfect. Now go to Step 9!
• 9. You are now recording your Video CV. Press the ‘Stop’ button to stop when you are complete. Make sure you plan in good time as you have up to 60 seconds. After 60 seconds the recording will automatically stop and save to that point.
• 10. You can review your recording by clicking Play.

For Mobile Phones

Ensure you have an MPEG4, 3GP, or MOV file (most 3G phones produce these).

Load the file from your mobile onto your PC or laptop and note down the name of the file. Check that the file is smaller than 20Mb. Log into your cvseeme profile and scroll down to find the option to upload your Video via the ‘Browse’ function. Then make sure you click ‘SAVE’ at the bottom of the page. A file transfer will then take place and your Video will be processed. This may take some time depending on the duration of your film. Once processed, it will be available in your profile under ‘View Video Showcase’.

For Video Recorders

You’ve filmed and perhaps edited your Video showcase. Often the resulting file will be in MPEG2. If you are using one of the latest instant MP4 recorders you will have the file you need ready and waiting. Larger MP2 files will need reducing in size to MPEG4.

When you have an MPEG4  file smaller than 20Mb, it’s ready to upload in the same way as noted above!
