New Paid Graduate Internship Scheme
2nd February 2012
BUSINESSES and graduates are being invited to attend the launch of a new paid graduate internship scheme.
Up to 50 of the subsidised places are available via the Government-backed initiative, which is being co-ordinated by Staffordshire University's careers service.
Cash for the project has come from the Higher Education Innovation Fund. The university has already filled 136 internships over the past 18 months through previous schemes.
It means employers can enlist the skills of a graduate for six weeks to grow and develop a part of their business.
The graduate will receive a total of £1,537.50, of which £1,000 will be provided through the university, with the employer providing 35 per cent.
The launch event takes place in the Ashley Lecture Theatre at Staffordshire University's Stoke campus today from 5pm to 7pm. To book a place call 01785 353312 or email internships@staffs.ac.uk.
