WHO IS KEITH?
A Brief on the Founder
Keith Chaplin-Mabbutt is the UK Entrepreneur / CEO & Founder of CVSeeMe.com - The multi-award winning graduate recruitment website. Follow him and his thoughts by clicking on his live Twitter feed but first find out a bit more about him.
Keith first began in business in 2000 when aged 20 and just before graduating from university, he set up a telecommunications franchise, namely ‘Mablin Associates’, going on to sell the business one year later for a profit.
After gaining his degree he then turned his attention to recruitment two years later, viewing it as the perfect ‘people business’ Industry sector. With a passion for helping people realise their potential he launched a graduate recruitment consultancy, Enhance Recruit UK (enhanceuk.com), specifically to assist students coming out of university with a degree and in need of a job to go with it. As a graduate himself he understood the position of his job seeker audience and established a plethora of links with numerous universities across the UK and local businesses to go on to develop EnhanceUK.com to become one of the UK’s leading online graduate recruitment consultancies in London.
It was then during 2007 that he conceived a new innovative concept in online recruitment and realised the potential that web-video could play in the process. The idea of both job seekers and employers utilising video to attract and engage each other for the benefit of realising the most suitable match. Researching the market he came up with the notion: ‘CV’ – as in the paper version of the individual.. ‘See Me’ – as in the ‘real’ person behind the piece of paper. The paper version would remain as the first tool to appraise in the process but Keith was clear that it would always be PEOPLE that employers would hire.
With this new concept in mind he went on to lead EnhanceUK.com to a successful acquisition in October 2009, selling the company to a multi-million pound turnover recruitment group whilst retaining both a directorship and equity share to focus his attention on launching and developing his next business: CVSeeMe.com.
With a 6-figure investment Keith officially launched CVSeeMe.com in January 2010 as the first website of its kind in the UK. An innovative web-video enabled graduate recruitment website with its primary goal to help as many job seekers as possible find the right job and enhance their prospects for interviews.
Since its inception CVSeeMe.com has become a National multi-award winning recruitment website.
Accolades include:
· ‘Best Graduate Recruitment Website’ – National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2010 (Finalist)
· ‘Best Newcomer in Online Recruitment’ – National Online Recruitment Awards 2010 (Winner); and
· ‘Best Technical Innovation’ – OnRec Awards 2011 (Winner)
In 2011 CVSeeMe.com is officially viewed by the Recruitment Industry as ‘One of the Best Job Boards in the Country’ (The Recruitment Industry Awards 2011).
With an assembled multi-million pound shareholder syndicate, Keith wants to ensure the continued development of CVSeeMe.com for the benefit of the user – the graduate job seeker. His plan is to help as many graduates as possible find the right job that best suits their interests and capabilities whilst helping employers of all sizes appoint skilled individuals that can move their business on.
Keith has been one of the youngest members of The Institute of Directors and was previously a Finalist in the Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2003. He is a member of Recruitment Leaders, The Recruitment Society, Graduate Recruiters Network and the Association of Graduate Recruiters, and has also been a member of the Young Entrepreneur Organisation.

A final note from Keith:
"I have a strong passion for helping others and sincerely hope that CVSeeMe.com can help you both in your search for the right kind of work opportunity and then beyond by you making use of its built-in video platform.
The graduate recruitment market is ever-evolving and trends now dictate a clear message: Both employers and job seekers must pay attention to their individual ‘brand’. The ‘something’ that makes your distinction from others.
The idea of CVSeeMe.com is simple. Recruitment is about people. Employers hire people but tend to review the paper version of you first. Hence: CV – See Me. So use the site to explore employers, find their jobs and watch their videos. Get a feel for the role and the company to decide whether it really meets your requirements.
Then make use of the video platform for yourself. Apply to jobs through the site as you would do normally but then have a go at creating a 60-second video to send along with it. Either this or be ready to be asked to do one by a recruiter! It shows the employer how much you want the job and why and is all about giving you the very best chance of securing that all important interview.
I wish you all the best of luck in your graduate job search."
