This is arguably the easiest way to create your video showcase for cvseeme – by using a web cam on your PC or laptop. Most models now have these built in, but if you haven’t got one to hand, you can buy one cheaply on sites such as eBay. Otherwise, you can buy one from us at cvseeme. Drop us an email with your contact details to or give us a call on 0845 0 776 700 and we’ll have one sent out to you ASAP! Using a web cam, you simply click onto the ‘Record Video Showcase’ section of your home page and the system will detect the model. You’ll soon be ready to get filming to create your 60-second masterpiece.
There are many different types of mobile phones available today and thankfully most 3G type mobile phones now have very high quality video camera recorders. All you need to do is check that yours will record either in 'MPEG4', '3GP', or 'MOV' (Quick Time movie). If it does, then get recording! Once you’ve filmed your Video, you simply download the file to your desktop and upload the file after browsing for it within your cvseeme profile.
This is a great way to make your recording but please only use this type of equipment if you know what you’re doing – it can be quite tricky. The file formats are often not web friendly and need converting to MPEG4. This can be done but if you’re preparing to create your Video using this route we’ll assume no necessary guidance is required. However, please remember you only have up to 60 seconds recording time and less than a 20Mb file to upload.
Be sure to choose a suitable location: A quiet room, plain background or even a green field are good choices. In all photography and video, lighting is usually more important than the camera, so check you have plenty of light (outside light is often the best). Ensure you have an outline script and have done a practice run (You can reference our helpful instructions and autocue tips on the recording page). Bear in mind that professionals will normally have all the benefits of being able to edit, with professional camera operators and sound crews, and even then they do multiple takes! So enjoy it and Good luck!
